Currently, the following rules apply to the purchase of a real estate for further residence permits:
- From 500 thousand euros - a contribution to the purchase of the real estate of any type
- From 400 thousand euros - a contribution to the purchase of a real estate in a region with low population density;
- From 350 thousand euros - a contribution to the purchase of real estate built more than 30 years ago, which is subject to reconstruction/restoration;
- From 250 thousand euros - a contribution to the purchase of the real estate, built more than 30 years ago, subject to reconstruction/restoration, and located in a region with low population density.
In addition, you don`t get the right to a Golden Visa when buying residential real estate in an investment-attractive region (which includes, in particular, Lisbon, Porto, and some other regions of the country).
However, fortunately, this rule doesn`t apply to commercial real estate that is intended for living.
